Kuldip Manak – Punjabi music

I’ve been a big fan of Bollywood music for awhile, but a recent fortunate trip to a sketchy thriftstore has introduced me to the world of Punjabi music. The place was crammed with junk with a section for every item that noone will buy. Like 20 toaster ovens etc. Not really sure how traditional this form of the music is but is clearly the forerunner of todays wildly popular bhangra music but without the electronic beats. Kuldip Manak, a fellow scorpio was born in 1951 and was apparently a field hockey player of some repute.

Price: 12 records for $10 (about $0.83)
Location: Pseudo thrift store on Fraser Street.

Hi there! I just came across your site and find it very intruiging indeed! Great stuff! I noticed a post made (albeit a while back) regarding some Vinyls picked up, one of which was a punjabi LP by the singer Kuldip Manak with a colourful cover! 🙂 I was wondering if this LP was available for sale at all? I’d love to hear from you!

    Many thanks!!

  2. Have you heard of on line radio broadcasts? Just thinking if you
have looked into starting your online show for free covering these subjects as well.
I think they have free online accounts to join, please
inform me if you turn out doing it!
