Even though the cover of this brags about the appearance of New Singing Sensation Kamal Haasan, the best tracks are by Bollywood superstar Asha Bhosle. It always seems like she’s doing the ones that are a little more forward sounding while her more famous sister sang the more traditional numbers. This movie came out in 1983 and the music was composed by Ilaiyaraaja with lyrics by Gulzar. Apparently in the movie the lead woman gets a head injury, loses her memory and starts acting like a six year old and ends up in a brothel only to be saved by a mild mannered school teacher. Unfortunately the police and her family mistake him for the kidnapper. One website raves: Balu Mahendra’s direction is silky, languid and feels like a drink of well weathered whiskey on a stormy night. ( While another says: “Truly Impeccable !!!” claiming the male lead, “succeeds in producing a gamut of emotions in a splendid manner.” (

Movies of a different culture, come with different sensibilities. That said, this is simple movie of love – Lost! See the reviews in imdb.
